This initiative provides aspiring legal professionals with practical exposure to the legal profession, allowing them to learn from experienced practitioners, gain meaningful insights into legal practice, and bridge the gap between academic learning and the workplace.

About MVA Law

MVA Law is a multi-disciplinary law firm offering a comprehensive range of legal services, including Property Law, Commercial Law, Corporate Governance, Labour Law, Debt Collection, and Family Law. The firm is led by Trishana Govender and Tebello Motshwane. Trishana obtained her LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and was admitted as an Attorney in 2015. After completing her articles, she progressed to become Head of Securities and Group Company Secretary, where she gained extensive experience in corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

Driven by a passion for continuous professional development, Trishana completed postgraduate qualifications in Anti-Money Laundering, Risk and Compliance Management, and Board Governance at the University of Johannesburg. In 2018, she was admitted as a Conveyancer and Notary Public before acquiring MV Attorneys and Associates Inc., which has since evolved and rebranded as MVA Law.

Tebello Motshwane obtained her LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg. She is the Managing Director of Collective Intelligence Legal Consultants and is the Founder of Sister In Law. Tebello has extensive experience in family law, intellectual property law and commercial law. She has worked at a Mutual Assurance Society and at a bank. Some of Tebello’s professional achievements include being a recipient of the Mail & Guardian Top 50, Powerful Women award in 2022, she is an alumni of the Nelson Mandela Washington Fellowship for the 2021 cohort and is a 2020 Mail & Guardian Top 200 Young South African in the Justice & Law Category.

Through visionary leadership and a commitment to legal excellence, the ladies are building a firm that delivers exceptional legal services while creating opportunities to mentor and inspire the next generation of legal professionals.
